Joseph Seif
About
Joseph Seif is a photographer, filmmaker, and composer whose work explores the intersection of art, science, and environmental storytelling. With a background in commercial and fine art photography, his career has taken him across the globe—but a 2022 assignment in Antarctica marked a turning point. Immersed in the daily work of marine biologists and climate scientists, Joseph gained a firsthand perspective on the urgent environmental challenges facing the polar regions. This experience sparked a deep commitment to documenting fragile ecosystems and the human forces shaping them. Since then, he has completed expeditions in Svalbard and East Greenland, and his forthcoming photography book Midnight Sun is a visual meditation on climate change, tourism, militarization, and natural resource extraction in the Arctic and Antarctic.
At Creative Climate Lab, Joseph serves as Narrative Director, where he leads storytelling development and multimedia production across all expeditions. Drawing on his skills as an IAATO Antarctica Ambassador, sailor, and scuba diver, he documents scientific research in remote and extreme environments—translating complex fieldwork into compelling visual narratives. His deep respect for both the scientific process and the power of cinematic storytelling drives the Lab’s creative approach, ensuring that every project is grounded in accuracy, emotional resonance, and a strong sense of place. Through photography, film, and sound, Joseph helps bring CCL’s mission to life—bridging the gap between data and human experience.
