About
Chad Scott is a marine conservationist, educator, and environmental scientist with over 15 years of international experience in coral reef ecology and marine resource management. After graduating the University of Colorado with a degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Geology, he later earned a Master’s in Marine Ecology and went on to establish the New Heaven Reef Conservation Program in 2007. Under his leadership, the program grew into a highly successful model for community-based marine conservation, training thousands of students and inspiring the creation of similar initiatives around the world. The New Heaven Reef Conservation Program remains active today and continues to serve as a benchmark for effective reef restoration and education.
Building on this success, Chad co-founded Conservation Diver in 2014, a global nonprofit dedicated to marine conservation education and training. He continues to serve as co-director, overseeing curriculum development and instructor training. The organization now offers certification programs across five countries and has helped establish a global network of conservation professionals.
Chad has also served as Chief Coral Scientist at The Reef Institute, where he contributed to science-based reef restoration efforts in Florida, and has collaborated with organizations such as The Ocean Grants Foundation to advance marine conservation research and outreach.
Currently, Chad is the Director of Education at Fusion Academy Palm Beach Gardens, where he brings his expertise in science communication and curriculum design into the classroom. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to bridging the gap between science and community, empowering the next generation of environmental stewards.
