
Carolyn Gerin
About
Carolyn Gerin is a seasoned creative director, communications expert, storyteller, and agency leader with over 30 years of experience spanning design, publishing, marketing, advertising, and brand building. She has led brand and campaign development for global companies and landmark public works in California, published four books with Chronicle Books and Random House, and designed products and packaging for Williams-Sonoma. An avid adventurer, she served as Senior Editor, producer and journalist of an international print travel magazine. Carolyn is recognized for developing high-impact creative strategies that drive engagement and inspire action. She is a movement builder in the social impact space. She holds degrees: a B.S. in Applied Design, and an M.A. in Integrated Design. She is a graduate of the Climatebase Fellowship Cohort 7 with Innovator, Catalyst, and Uplifter distinctions. Here, she co-founded and lead the Creative Climate Lab—a science-meets-storytelling initiative now evolving into a nonprofit organization, in Q1 2026.
As Creative Director of Creative Climate Lab, Carolyn leads visual/brand strategy, storytelling, and public engagement. She is also involved in partnerships, business development and innovation strategy. She ensures that complex scientific data is transformed into compelling narratives that resonate with broad audiences, pairing artists with researchers to bring climate issues to life. From campaign development to editorial oversight, she shapes the Lab’s creative vision while mentoring the team and championing bold, accessible climate communication.
